Traffic arrest leads to meth lab bust in MinnesotaBLUE EARTH, Minnesota -- A traffic stop and arrest Thursday afternoon led to the reported discovery of a methamphetamine lab at a residence in Bricelyn, Minnesota.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a Faribault County, Minnesota Sheriff's Deputy and a Minnesota State Trooper with a K-9 unit stopped a vehicle on Interstate Highway 90, eastbound between the Bricelyn and Wells exits. Edward Eugene Singletary, 40, of Bricelyn, Minnesota was stopped for driving after suspension and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Further investigation led Minnesota officers to obtain a search warrant for Singletary's residence in the 700 block of North Fifth Street in Bricelyn.
When the warrant was executed at the residence, a methamphetamine lab reportedly was discovered, along with finished methamphetamine product and another controlled substance. Items used for weighing, packaging and selling methamphetamine also were seized as evidence from the residence.
The South Central Drug Task Force also assisted with the search warrant and the safe removal of hazardous materials.
While the case remains under investigation, charges are expected to be filed in the near future.
Singletary is being held in the Faribault County, Minnesota Jail awaiting a court appearance.
